WATERTOWN A three-car accident on Route 11 in the town of LeRay on Tuesday morning involved nine people, including a 1-year-old boy, and left one of the drivers with head pain.
Jefferson County sheriffs deputies said that Zamar D. Turner, 41, of 14 Old Martin St., Carthage, was southbound on Route 11 when he ran a yellow light and struck a vehicle driven by Shelby M. Arthur, 22, of 24061 Lester Road, Felts Mills, as she was turning left onto Route 342.
The collision forced Ms. Arthurs vehicle back, striking the front of a vehicle driven by Robert M. Canniff, 42, of 983 Route 11, Gouverneur, who was driving east on Route 342 and was stopped at the intersection.
Ms. Arthur complained of head pain but refused medical treatment, deputies said. No other injuries were reported.
Mr. Turner was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and disobeying a traffic safety device. Deputies said Mr. Turners license had four suspensions for failure to pay a fine, including three on Jan. 1 in the town of Gouverneur and one Sept. 7 in the town of Philadelphia.
Mr. Canniff also was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, stemming from two suspensions for failing to pay a fine in the town of LeRay last August and in the town of DeKalb last March.
All of the tickets are returnable to LeRay Town Court.
