MASSENA – The Massena baseball team rallied from a deficit to defeat Malone 4-3 in nine innings in the first Northern Athletic Conference Central Division game for each team Wednesday.
Malone led the Red Raiders 3-0 after the top of the first inning.Jacob Vierno entered as a relief pitcher for Massena and struck out seven to keep Massena in the game. Tyler Haas led Massena with three hits, including a double.
Jared Moody struck out 12 for the Huskies.

HERMON-DEKALB 18, HARRISVILLE 15
Delaney Kerr hit two home runs to help the Hermon-DeKalb defeat the Pirates in the West Division opener for both teams in Harrisville.
Chelsey MacKay lined four hits, including a home run, for Hermon-DeKalb.
Mallory Baker, Sarah Campbell and Emma Harper each picked up two hits for the Pirates.
ST. LAWRENCE 13, NORWOOD-NORFOLK 2
Lindsey Thayer struck out 12 to send the Larries past Norwood-Norfolk in the East Division opener for both squads in Brasher Falls.
Tara Douglas went 4-for-4 for the Larries and drove in three runs. Thayer went 3-for-4. Hailee Weeger and Natashia Barnhard each lined two hits.
Sidney Molnar singled and doubled for the Flyers.
MALONE 12, MASSENA 0
Alissa McCauley struck out 15 and gave up just two hits to help the Huskies shut out Massena in the Central Division opener for each team in Malone. Janelle Heden led Malone with three hits. Whitney Legacy and Brooke Collins both lined two hits for Malone.
MASSENA 16, COLTON-PIERREPONT 3
Ross Driscoll led the Red Raiders (3-1) with six goals in a win over Colton-Pierrepont in Massena.
Sako Rourke scored four goals for Massena while Henrick Angus, Nick Henrie, Hunter Pyke, Rhoades Tarbell, Josh Blair and Jeff Bain also scored for Massena.
Ethan Knight, Noah Whalen and Scott Boyce scored for the Colts (0-4).
POTSDAM 18, SALMON RIVER 4
Anette Rishe and Kalie Grant each scored six goals as the Sandstoners (5-0) crushed Salmon River in Potsdam.
Kiona Loran and Hannah Drechsel both scored two goals for Potsdam and Matisyn Beamer and Abby Gruneisen added single goals.
Jaden Mitchell and Kyra Thompson-Douglas both scored twice for Salmon River (0-3).
