MASSENA - A Massena teen was flown to Massachusetts General Hospital following a workplace accident that severed his arm at Violis Restaurant Thursday evening.
Village Police Chief Timmy J. Currier said his department responded to the 209 Center St. restaurant at 8:36 p.m., but is not investigating.
Brett M. Bouchard, 17, severed his right arm at the elbow when cleaning the restaurants pasta making machine, manager Mia Violi said.
A undergoing surgery on Friday, he was listed in critical condition as of 7:45 p.m., according to a hospital spokeswoman.
Ross Violi, who owns the restaurant with his brother, Dominic, said this is the first accident in the restaurants long history.
