ADAMS The groundbreaking ceremony for the start of work on the Adams Fire Hall expansion is set for 2 p.m. Monday.
The village authorized the project after a referendum in November approved a $1.2 million bond for the expansion. The six-bay addition to the building will add space for fire apparatus and emergency response equipment. It also is designed to accommodate future growth.
Mayor Philip F. Chatterton will speak at the event. Also attending will be former Mayor Patricia C. Sweetland and a representative from the office of Assemblyman Kenneth D. Blankenbush, R-Black River.
The Adams Fire Department Auxiliary will provide refreshments following the ceremony.
