Alleged domestic incident leads to weapons, menacing charges

MARTINSURG — A 23-year-old man was charged Friday by Lewis County sheriff’s deputies with three felony counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon after an April 12 domestic incident in which he allegedly displayed a handgun in a threatening manner to a female victim.

Jonathan Aguiar, 4815 W. Martinsburg Road, allegedly had three magazines with a higher than 10-round capacity, deputies said. He also was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, for allegedly having an unregistered handgun in the state, and with second-degree menacing.

He was arraigned in Lowville Village Court, posted $1,000 bail and was released.

Also charged Friday was Katelyn Worthen, 24, Tiverton, R.I., an unrelated woman in the incident who allegedly gave a false written statement. She was arraigned in Lowville Village Court, posted $250 cash bail and was released.
