WATERTOWN — A Watertown man was charged with first-degree assault and third-degree possession of a weapon early Saturday after he allegedly stabbed a man with a knife near his Winslow Street residence.

City police said Caleb M. Main, 37, of 341 Winslow St., Apt. 3, caused injury to the kidney and liver of Stephen Gilligan, Watertown, during the incident at 12:40 a.m.

He was charged at 1:03 a.m. at 344 Winslow St., arraigned in City Court and held on $15,000 cash bail.
