HEUVELTON - Taking care of their defensive assignments expertly, Kylie Piercey, Jackie Sovie and Olivia St. Pierrewere cited by Heuvelton Coach Becky Kelley for play key roles in leadingHCS to a 13-5 win over OFA in NAC Girls Lacrosse action on Friday.

The Bulldogs (2-3) also received six goals and three assists from Sovie and four goals from St. Pierre. Maddie St. Pierre chipped in two goals and one assists and Alex Steele added one goal and one assist to back Heather Thompson’s seven saves in goal.

Sky Hoover scored four goals for OFA (1-3) while Mackenzie Bresett delivered one goal and two assists and Danielle Guimond added an assist. Marissa Foster made six saves for the Devils.

“We scored five goals on 13 shots today which is a good percentage. We are a work in progress and we just have to stay positive and keep working to get more shots on goal,” said OFA Coach Lauren Morley.

“We marked Jackie Sovie well in the first half but she got away from us in the second half. Our biggest thing right is to improve on maintaining possession of the ball.”

Potsdam Wins:Kiona Loran and Nettie Rishe scored four goals Potsdam (6-0) defeated the Northwood Prep in a nonleague girls lacrosse game. Hannah Drechsel scored twice for Potsdam and Matisyn Beemer added another goal.
