CAPE VINCENT — Starting this week and running through July 4, the town Highway Department will remove brush and limbs from residences.

Residents who live on town or county roads should pile limbs 5 to 6 feet away from shoulders.

The ideal size for limbs is 8 to 14 feet long, and smaller limbs should be piled on top of larger ones. Leaves and small sticks will not be picked up.

Though state highway department workers will not pick up limbs that didn’t fall into the right-of-way of state roads, the town crew will pick up all limbs that are piled within reach of the shoulder on those roads.

For more information, call Highway Superintendent Daniel P. Hubbard at 654-2471.
