NEEDLE POSSESSION - NORFOLK - Massena-based state police charged Timothy A. Scott, 27, of 27 Cedar St., Norwood, with possession of a hypodermic needle and three vehicle and traffic law violations after he was involved in two separate accidents in a 10-minute stretch early Tuesday afternoon.
Troopers said they received a report at 12:12 p.m. that a vehicle, later identified as being operated by Scott, had struck a bicyclist. Gabriel Houle reported to state police he was riding northbound on state Route 56 when the mirror on a northbound truck struck him. He received a contusion to his arm but did not seek medical attention.
State police said at 12:20 p.m. they came across Scotts truck and a sheared off National Grid utility pole in Raymondville. Scott reportedly told police he was experiencing steering and brake issues with his 2002 Chevy Silverado at the time of the accidents.
Troopers ticketed Scott for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, failure to keep right and imprudent speed.
Following his processing on those charges, he was turned over to Massena Village Police, who held a bench warrant for his arrest from Massena Village Court.
AGGRAVATED HARASSMENT - MOIRA - Malone-based state police charged Clifford J. Foster, 45, of Winthrop with second-degree aggravated harassment Tuesday afternoon following an investigation into a complaint filed with troopers at 5:36 p.m. Monday from the town of Moira.
