LaFargeville teen fractures elbow in Wednesday evening accident

LAFARGEVILLE — A 15-year-old LaFargeville boy suffered a fractured elbow when he was biking on Route 180 Wednesday evening and was hit by a vehicle.

State police said Aaron N. James was southbound on the road, near the intersection of Carter Street Road, about 5:30 p.m. while Savannah G. Dennison, 17, of Theresa, was driving in the same direction. Aaron, who police said was not wearing a helmet, tried to cut across the road, failing to see Miss Dennison, and the two struck.

Not thinking he was injured, he got a ride home from Miss Dennison, police said. On Thursday, he discovered that he had a fractured elbow. After initially telling his parents he had hurt his elbow falling down stairs at school, he told them about the accident, police said, and they subsequently notified police. It is unclear where he sought medical treatment.

Miss Dennison was not injured, but her vehicle suffered damage to a side mirror. No tickets have been issued.
