Two Lowville women charged with shoplifting at Herb Philipson’s


WATERTOWN — City police arrested two Lowville women after they allegedly stole more than $220 worth of merchandise from Herb Philipson’s, 1283 Arsenal St., on Wednesday afternoon.

Police said Carissa G. Blair, 32, of 7124 Loson Road, and Michelle L. Smith, 31, of 7576 Cascade Ave., entered the store about 5 p.m. Wednesday. Ms. Blair is charged with stealing $177.75 worth of merchandise from the store. Ms. Smith allegedly stole two Fox brand T-shirts valued at $51.98.

Both were charged with petit larceny. Ms. Blair also was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance after 20 alprazolam pills and half an Adderal pill, both schedule IV controlled substances, allegedly were found in her possession.

Both women were issued appearance tickets for City Court.
