Donna L. Freeman, 76, of 142 Mechanic St., Watertown, passed May 1, 2014 at the Samaritan Medical Center.
She was born on November 29, 1937, in Watertown, NY, daughter of William and Pearl G. Cassidy Doney.
Ms. Freeman graduated from Watertown High School. On Nov. 27, 1973 she began working at Mercy Hospital as a nurses aid and was transferred to the inpatient mental health unit where she continued working as an aid. The program was later transferred to Samaritan Medical Center. While working at Samaritan Medical Center she attended and graduated from Jefferson Community College with an Associates Degree in Human Services. She then became a Nationally Certified Psychiatric Technician on August 8, 1996. She continued working in the mental health unit up until she retired in 2002.
She was Vice President of the Mid Town Towers Association, she enjoyed movies and picnics.
Among her survivors are two daughters, Starr Roshia and her companion Andy Hillman, Kentucky, Penny A. Mosher, Black River; two sons and a daughter in law, Michael and Janet Freeman, Watertown, Robert Freeman, Watertown; 8 grandchildren, 9 great grand children; a brother and two sister in laws, William J. and Debra A. Doney, Watertown, Lillian P. Doney, FL; a sister, Mary Ellen Hampton, OH; several nieces and nephews.
Her twin brother, Donald Doney passed before her.
Arrangements are with the Hart & Bruce Funeral Home, Watertown.
There will be no calling hours or funeral service. A graveside service will be in St. James Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
