DWAI - MASSENA - Village police charged Kevin S. Hughes II, 23, of 96 Cook St., Massena, with driving while ability impaired, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and refusal to submit to an alcosensor and ticketed him for illegally passing a red light and failure to signal at 2:48 a.m. Sunday following a traffic stop on South Main Street.

BENCH WARRANT - MASSENA - Village police picked up Melissa L. Amarel, 42, of 45 Main St., Apt. 1, Massena, on a bench warrant for failure to appear in village court as directed on a pending petit larceny count. The warrant had been signed by Acting Massena Village Justice James M. Crandall on Aug. 17, 2013. Amarel was arraigned on the warrant by Massena Town Justice Gerald P. Sharlow and released on her own recognizance after the court learned she had been hospitalized for a period of time since being charged with petit larceny. She had been charged with leaving Peets Jewelers on April 2, 2013 without paying for a sample ring valued at $25.

UNAUTHORIZED LIGHTS - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Taylor J. Foster, 18, of Hammill Road, Massena, for unauthorized lights - improper color at 11:14 p.m. Saturday following a traffic stop on Saturday.

SPEEDING - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Angelica M Jones, 26, of Belmont Street, Massena, for speed in zone at 4:24 p.m. Saturday following a traffic stop on East Hatfield Street.

STOP SIGN - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Brandon J. Stark Jr. 17, of Massena for a stop sign violation at 3:20 p.m. Saturday following a traffic stop on Grove Street near Ridgewood Avenue.

STOP SIGN - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Marilyn R. Lapeter, 65, of Andrews Street, Massena, for a stop sign violation at 1:28 p.m. Saturday following a traffic stop on Parker Avenue near Alvern.

UNSAFE START - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Casey J. Morrill, 17, of County Route 48A, Norwood, for making an unsafe start at 1:10 p.m. Saturday following a traffic stop on West Hatfield Street.
