Oswego County woman gets interim probation for West Turin meth-making


LOWVILLE — An Oswego County woman who made methamphetamine in southern Lewis County was placed on one-year interim probation, with terms of sentencing to be determined partly by her conduct over the next year.

Christina Doner, 22, Williamstown, in Lewis County Court on Friday was put on interim probation after being arraigned and pleading guilty to third-degree unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine.

She was accused of possessing equipment and drug-making materials May 7 at a West Turin residence.

In other court action Friday:

Edward Bennett, 29, of 2954 Route 13, Pulaski, was sentenced to nine months in county jail, to run concurrently with a term he is serving in Oswego County jail, along with $3,718 in restitution that he already has paid and $50 in court fees on a charge of petit larceny, to which he pleaded guilty April 11. Mr. Bennett was accused of, on June 20, stealing wood belonging to Peter Herman in the town of Osceola.

David W. Ellis, 43, of Strong, Maine, was arraigned on a charge of third-degree assault and pleaded guilty. Sentencing was set for June 20. Mr. Ellis was accused of, on Feb. 28 in the town of Montague, hitting Jason Wilson in the head, knocking out a tooth and causing a concussion and nerve damage.

Russell X. Miller, 48, of 5585 Water St., had his case of third-degree criminal sale and possession of a controlled substance adjourned to May 30. He was accused of selling cocaine in June in Lowville.

Martina M. Downs, 49, of 7616 Park Ave., had her case of two counts each of fourth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and single counts of fourth- and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance adjourned to May 16. She was accused of selling dihydrocodeinone with acetaminophen on two occasions last summer in Lowville.
