Woman accused of driving while intoxicated

WATERTOWN — Nicole L. Haywood, 23, of 625 Mundy St., was charged with driving while intoxicated and unlawful possession of marijuana after she was pulled over for allegedly speeding on Route 11 in Pamelia.

Ms. Haywood was stopped by Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies at 3:07 a.m. Sunday.

Deputies said Ms. Haywood stated she had one drink at a local bar and was driving to Fort Drum at the time of the arrest.

She was issued a breath analysis test, which determined her blood alcohol content to be 0.16 percent, deputies said. Under state law, a BAC of 0.08 percent or higher constitutes proof of intoxication.

A multi-colored glass pipe and a plastic pill bottle containing marijuana were allegedly found in the driver’s side door compartment of her vehicle.

She was issued an appearance ticket to Pamelia Town Court.
