BRASHER FALLS - The Salmon River Central varsity boys lacrosse team overcame a strong St. Lawrence Central start in posting a 16-3 NAC win on Monday.

The host Larries built an early 2-0 start before the Shamrocks regroup to score 11 straight goals in the first half before adding four more unanswered goals in the third.

Kason Tarbell led the winning attack with four goals and four assists. Skye Sunday generated three goals and three helpers while Myles Delormier struck for another four goals. Bryton Burns and Skkylar Thomas chipped in a goal and two assists each. Frank David, Trenton Tarbell and Dalton Roundpoint notched the other goals.

Lukas Arquiett had a goal and assist for the Larries (4-4). Marshall Burninghausen and Nick Randall chipped in solo goals.

Tazz Oakes made nine saves working the crease for the win while Kody Kocsis stopped 15 shots for SLC.

Both teams return to action this afternoon with the undefeated Shamrocks headed to Ogdensburg while the Larries play at Colton-Pierrepont. Both games are slated to face-off at 4:30 p.m.

In the other NAC boys lacrosse matchups on Monday, OFA outlasted Potsdam 7-6 and Saranac Lake doubled Colton-Pierrepont 8-4.

OFA 7, Potsdam 6: In Potsdam, the visiting Blue Devils built a 5-3 halftime lead then held on for the win after being outscored 1-0 in the fourth quarter.

Josh Sanchez scored three goals and helped set up another in the losing cause. Max Warden netted a pair of goals while Billy Bergan struck for the other. Sam Woods, Corson Green and Cole Varney each recorded a solo assist.

Nate Peo paced the Blue Devils with a pair of goals. Austin Morley-Sloan chipped in a goal and two assists. Taylor Richardson (1 assist), Andrew Roddy (1 assist), David Prudhomme and Austin Murdock struck for the other goals.

Chase Palmer turned aside nine shots backstopping the Potsdam effort while Quinton Denner made nine saves for OFA.

The Sandstoners (2-7) will be back in action this evening under the lights at the SUNY Canton turf field against Canton Central starting at 6:30 p.m.

Saranac Lake 8, C-P 4: In Colton, Ethan Knight anchored the Colts’ offense with a pair of goals. Scott Boyce tallied a goal and assist while John Angleberger and Jon Porter struck for the other goals.

Oliver Holmes paced the Red Storm with three goals and an assist. Jeff Stevens notched three assists. Carl Schultz, Blake Battistoni, Gabe Woodward, Bryce Hartman and CJ Williams each netted singletons as the Red Storm worked their way to a 5-0 lead by the end of the first quarter before holding off the Colt for their first win of the season.

Majob McKinley turned aside 10 shots in the losing cause. Jacob Merrill made four saves backstopping the win.
