CANTON A St. Lawrence County jail inmate has been indicted again by a grand jury Thursday on a July burglary charge.
Robert J. Warren Jr., 50, of North Dakota, is being charged with second-degree burglary, a class C felony, and petit larceny, a misdemeanor.
It is alleged that on July 6 in the town of DeKalb, Warren and Louis J. Massei, 53, also of North Dakota and a cross-dresser who said his legal name in Oregon is Lisa, both Level 3 sex offenders, allegedly were found by Warrens estranged cousin, Linda Cutway, leaving her residence when she was returning home. It is alleged that he stole items from her home.
On March 28 in St. Lawrence County Court, Massei attempted to accept a plea deal for the alleged burglary but was unable to admit guilt and is now headed to trial.
Warren originally had been indicted on July 12; however, the indictment against him was dismissed on Feb. 21 with leave to represent to a second grand jury.
Both men continue to be held in St. Lawrence County jail without bail.
