High school baseball: Potsdam blanks OFA

POTSDAM — Will Coleman struck out 10 and scattered four hits to lead the Potsdam baseball team to a 12-0 victory over Ogdensburg Free Academy in a Northern Athletic Conference Central Division game Tuesday.

Trevor Keleher led Potsdam (5-1 overall, 5-0 division) with three hits, including a double. Ben Miller supplied three run-scoring singles, and Jacob Keleher, Nate Gingrich and Devon Delaney each produced two hits.

Jon Taylor led OFA (2-2, 2-2) with two hits.

MALONE 1, CANTON 0

Tim Lamay threw a no-hitter to lead the Huskies over the Golden Bears (1-4) in a Central Division game in Canton.

Lamay also scored the only run for the Huskies (4-2, 3-2) off a bases-loaded single by Tim Moody in the eighth inning.

MASSENA 11, SALMON RIVER 3

Isaac Ward picked up three hits to lead the Red Raiders (5-0) past the Shamrocks in a Central Division game in Fort Covington.

David Roundpoint drove in two runs for Salmon River (0-5) with a double in the fourth inning.

SACKETS HARBOR 11, COPENHAGEN 2

Dakota Brown doubled twice, singled and knocked in three runs as Sackets Harbor beat Copenhagen in a Frontier League “D” Division game at Sackets Harbor to provide coach Paul Gibbs with his 100th career victory.

Thomas Burch doubled twice, singled and drove in two runs for the Partiots (6-1), and Josh Keruski singled twice and knocked in a run. Ryan Allen allowed just five hits in going the distance.

Copenhagen fell to 4-2.

LAFARGEVILLE 3, ALEXANDRIA 2

William Foisey’s RBI single in the fifth inning capped a two-run inning as the Red Knights rallied past the Purple Ghosts for a “D” Division victory at LaFargeville.

Matt Valin and Ethan Johnson each doubled for LaFargeville (2-5).

Miles Kearns surrendered only three hits for Alexandria (2-5).

BELLEVILLE HENDERSON 6-5, LYME 4-3

The Panthers swept a “D’’ Division doubleheader at Chaumont behind the pitching of Tyler Bast and Hunter Benjamin.

Bast and Benjamin combined on a two-hitter in the opening game win. Colton Ramsdell and Benjamin each finished 2-for-3 for Belleville Henderson (3-6).

Benjamin came back to pitch all five innings of the second game, allowing five hits. Seth Jones went 2-for-2 with a double and Conrad Gehrke was also 2-for-2.

Troy Wilson tripled and singled for Lyme (0-6), while Donovan Marchiony and Riley Schwind contributed doubles.

SOUTH LEWIS 3, GENERAL BROWN 2

Nick Kraeger’s second hit of the game drove in the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning as the Falcons remained unbeaten with a crossover win at Turin.

Jake Vanbeber went 2-for-4 for South Lewis (6-0), and Jason Martin pitched the seventh to earn the win.

Derek Weaver went all seven innings for the Lions (3-5).

SANDY CREEK 6, SOUTH JEFFERSON 5

Zac Akey scored the winning run on an error on a Dillon Anthony grounder in the bottom of the seventh inning as the host Comets rallied to beat the Spartans in a crossover game in Sandy Creek.

Akey was hit by a pitch, stole second and took third on an error before coming around to score the winning run. Cameron Hall had a double for Sandy Creek (4-6) and Tyler Doe went the distance for the win.

Greg Modlin and Hunter Gillett recorded two hits each for South Jefferson (4-5).

LOWVILLE 13, THOUSAND ISLANDS 4

Connor Fayle drove in four runs with three hits, including a triple, to spark the Red Raiders past the Vikings in a crossover game at Clayton.

Jordan Arthur also contributed three hits and drove in a run for Lowville (5-5).

Brentyn Horton and Chase Boyer each finished with two hits for Thousand Islands (5-3).
