Indian River Lakes Conservancy makes first hire

REDWOOD — With the help of new state funding, the Indian River Lakes Conservancy has hired its first paid staff member. April Frederick will join the organization in late May and serve as the group’s coordinator of public programs and administration. The conservancy said Ms. Frederick has more than 20 years of experience in conservation work. She has a bachelor’s degree in natural resources from Oregon State University. She is a certified interpretive trainer/guide and a Master Naturalist.

“We are obviously very excited to receive this strong support from the NYSCPP (New York State Conservation Partnership Program) and pleased to hire such an experienced and dedicated person to fill this important role” said Elliott D. Hillback Jr., the conservancy’s president. “This major organizational step will help the IRLC broaden and accelerate its programs and thereby serve the Indian River Lakes area more effectively.”
