Police: Alleged hotel room meth maker possessed the drug


WATERTOWN—The man charged Wednesday with making methamphetamine in a Watertown hotel room was charged additionally by city police with possessing a small amount of the drug in his pants pocket at the time of the search.

Eugene L. Lively, 29, whose address is now listed as Room 201 at the Rodeway Inn, 652 Arsenal St., the site of the bust, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

He previously was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class C felony; third-degree unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine, a class D felony; unlawful disposal of methamphetamine laboratory material, a class E felony, and third-degree reckless endangerment, a misdemeanor, by the Metro-Jeff Drug Task Force.

He remains held at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building on $5,000 cash bail.
