Funeral services for Raymond C. Love, age 71 of Ogdensburg NY will be held on Friday (May 9, 2014) at 6:00pm at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home. Burial will be at a later date.

Calling hours will be held also on Friday from 2:00-6:00pm at the Funeral Home. Mr. Love passed away (May 7, 2014) at the Claxton Hepburn Medical Center surrounded by his family.

Surviving is his wife Pamela; a son Raymond; and a daughter Martha Love-Popple all of Ogdensburg; grandchildren Aubrey Love, Avery Love & Douglas Popple IV; a brother Gene Love & his wife Marge of Ogdensburg; a sister Sally Meeker & her husband Lawrence of Ithaca; brother-in-laws Randy Abar & his wife Linda of Ogdensburg, Doug Abar & his wife Cheryl of Morristown & Jeff Abar of Ogdensburg; sister-in-laws Becky Dotte & her husband John of Malone and Angela Abar of Ogdensburg; along with several nieces, nephews & cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents Roy & Mary Love and two brothers Robert & Gerald Love.

Ray was born on December 6, 1942 in Ogdensburg, NY a son of the late Roy T. & Mary (LaFirst) Love. He attended Ogdensburg Free Academy for his education, and entered the US Navy from 1964 – 1969. He married Pamela I. Abar on June 18, 1976 in Ogdensburg, NY.

During his career he was employed at Diamond National, Newell Manufacturing and later with the Ogdensburg Correctional Facility where he retired from in 2010 as a locksmith. Raymond was an active member of the National Guard and the Shriner’s. He enjoyed his hunting camp in Harrisville, fishing, deer hunting, gardening, going to the casino, sitting on his back porch and spending time with his wife and grandchildren.
