The Lord called his loving daughter, Mary Elizabeth Lees, home to be with him on Wednesday May 7, 2014 after she passed at the Samaritan Medical Center with family beside her.

Mary was born in Belleville, NY, on April 15, 1946 daughter of Ray and Cora Bellinger.

She attended school in the Belleville School district until moving to Watertown. She graduated from Watertown High School in 1964. She then graduated from Buffalo State College in 1968 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Special Education and Elementary Education.

She married Gerald B. Lees on August 23, 1968, in Watertown, at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Allen Dodge officiating.

Mary and Gerald resided and taught school in Watertown and Baldwinsville in the early years of their marriage. Mary taught Special Education at the LaFargeville School District. She also taught and retired from teaching at Watertown Correctional Facility.

Mr. Lees was a high school teacher in the Syracuse area, General Brown and Watertown schools. He also taught and retired from teaching at the Watertown Correctional Facility.

Mary enjoyed working with children and enjoyed playing the piano. She served with her husband, the Rev. Gerald B. Lees at Watertown Assembly of God, Northland Assembly of God Evans Mills and Cornerstone Family Worship Center. She was a member of the Healing Rooms prayer team with her husband Gerald. Mary was also a care-giver for her parents.

Mary had a special smile and a loving heart for others. She is survived by her loving husband and best friend Rev. Gerald B. Lees, Watertown. She is also survived by her son Jeremy Lees and his wife Emily and grandsons Spenser and Bennett of Colorado Springs, CO. A daughter Melissa Lees of Watertown. Mary’s mother Cora Bellinger of Watertown also survives her. She is survived by her two sisters and a brother in law, Jane and Bob Golden of Watertown and Martha Bellinger of California. She has nieces and nephews as well as great nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mary was a precious wife, daughter, mother and grandmother and will be missed and remembered by her family and friends. We love you mom.

Arrangements are with the Hart & Bruce Funeral Home, Watertown.

A private graveside service will be held at Brookside Cemetery with family. All other arrangements to be made by the family are on hold for a later date.
