Heuvelton and Morristown recorded NAC West Baseball/Softball victories Thursday’s action while Harrisville swept a baseball doubleheader and Edwards-Knox took a pair in Softball.

SOFTBALL

Heuvelton 7, Hammond 2: Rachel Thornhill provided the clutch hitting for 10-0 and number six state-ranked Heuvelton going 2-4 with a double and three RBIs.

Kristie Donnelly stroked two hits while Paige McCormick lined a double. Alexis Weidner struck out four in a two hitter and also singled.

Hannah Thornhill and Shelby Williams each singled.

Emily Bush and Mariah Simons each singled for Hammond (3-3).

Morristown 16 - H-D 1: The Green Rockets (4-5) posted their second win in three games checking the Demons behind Taylor Piercey’s three-hitter. Margret Troiano ripped a single, a triple and a homerun to lead the winning offense, Logan Green singled twice and Jessica Geddes drilled a double.

Sam Green, Piercey, Hailey Whitmarsh and Liz Troiano all singled for MCS and Rhys Bryant doubled for H-D (3-3).

E-K 14-17, Harrisville 4-2: In a 14-4 game-one victory, Harley LaBarge fanned two in a three-hit victory for E-K (5-2) and Katrina Moore and Heather Finnerty each tripled, Shaye Taylor doubled while Makayla Bacon singled twice.

Matott stroked two hits for Harrisville (1-8).

In a 17-2 game-two win, Makayla Bacon struck out 12 in a five-inning no-hitter and helped her cause with a double. Also for E-K, Cheyenne Schwartzfigure blasted a three-run homer, Molly Burger stroked two hits while Labarge, Darian Fenton and Dakota Bacon all doubled.

on all doubled.

BASEBALL

Heuvelton 18, Hammond 2: The Bulldogs (9-1) broke open a close one with five runs in the third inning and Jack Palmer threw four innings for the victory, striking out seven, while helping his own cause with a single and two RBIs. Aiden Scagel and Colin Trathen finished up in relief.

Also for the Bulldogs, Michael Martin went 3-for-5 with two RBIs, Scagel went 2-for-6 with a double, Dylan Liscum went 2-for-5, Jordan Macaulay went 2-for-5 with a double and five RBIs, Cole Piercey and Andrew Woodard each went 3-for-5 with a double and an RBI while Joe McDonnell went 2-for-5.

For Hammond (0-5) Brock Tully, Payton Frisina and Colin Martin all lined singles.

Morristown 17, H-D 10: The host Green Rockets (5-3) pounded out 20 hits to support four pitchers who combined on a six-hitter. Tyler Delosh was credited with the win in two innings of relief while Hance took the loss in going the distance for H-D.

For Morristown offensively, Delosh homered twice and doubled twice, Jacob Fox lined three hits, Karter VanArnam doubled and singled twice, Zackary Kanaly stroked two doubles, Luke King had two hits while Corey Todd doubled.

For H-D (0-6), Smith stroked three hits, Woodrow lined two hits and Matthews added a hit.

Harrisville 9-4, E-K 1-1: In a 9-1 game-one victory, Nate Weaver struck out six and walked just and helped his own cause with two hits and an RBI. Justin Hartle went 2-for-3 with a double, Kevin Kapfer went 3-for-4 while Jared Dreythaler and Tim Fowler each went 2-for-3 as the Pirates climbed to 9-0.

For the Cougars, Nick Davis doubled while Shane Mackin, Kaden Dandrow and Dave Sharlow all singled.

In a 4-1 game-two decision, Hartle pitched a four-hitter with four strikeouts for the win.

For Harrisville, Byron Evans and Time Fowler each singled. For E-K (2-4), Davis doubled while Sharlow, Dandrow and Mackin all singled.
