CANTON — Josh Huiatt scored with three seconds left to give the Canton boys lacrosse team a 9-8 victory over St. Lawrence Central in a Northern Athletic Conference game Thursday night at SUNY Canton.

Jake Facey led Canton (10-1 overall, 10-0 division) with three goals. Derick Glasgow and Cody Moore added two goals for Canton. Peyton VanBibber also scored for the Golden Bears.

No stats were available for St. Lawrence Central (5-6).

MASSENA 18, OFA 1

Kendrick Angus scored eight goals to send the Red Raiders past the Blue Devils (3-6) in Massena.

Nick Henrie scored once and assisted seven times for Massena (7-4, 7-2). Rhoades Tarbell and Ross Driscoll both scored three goals, and Cole Allen added two goals for Massena. Brendan Broderick also scored for Massena.

Nate Peo scored for the Blue Devils.

SALMON RIVER 15, SARANAC LAKE 2

Myles Delmorier and Bryton Burns both scored three goals to lift Salmon River past Saranac Lake (2-5) in Fort Covington.

Kason Tarbell provided one goal and five assists for Salmon River (9-0, 8-0). Blaze White, Skylar Thomas and Trenton Tarbell each scored two goals, and Skye Sunday and Iothore Lazore scored once.

Jeff Stevens and Kevin Duguay scored for the Red Storm.

GIRLS LACROSSE

CANTON 16, HEUVELTON 12

Four-goal games from Mimi Husinet and Claire Bartlett led Canton (7-2) in Heuvelton.

Tess Knight and Emily Pinkney both scored three goals for Canton, and Angelina Vecchio also scored.

Olivia St. Pierre led Heuvelton (6-6, 5-4) with five goals. Jackie Sovie recorded three goals and two assists, and Maddie St. Pierre added two goals. Kylie Piercey and Corine Sherwin also scored for the Bulldogs.

POTSDAM 8, OFA 3

Kalie Grant and Abby Gruneisen each scored three goals to lead Potsdam (9-2, 8-2) past OFA in Ogdensburg.

Sky Hoover, Taylor Smith and Lexi Kennedy scored for OFA (2-8, 1-6).

BOYS TRACK AND FIELD

HUSKIES WIN PAIR

Dan Badgley and Tehatakenta Boots each won two events to lead Malone to a 134 1/2-106 1/2 win over OFA (3-2) and a 184 1/2-47 1/2 victory over Salmon River (0-5-1) in a double-dual meet in Malone. OFA defeated the Shamrocks 152 1/2-72 1/2.

Badgley won the 110-meter hurdles and the 400 hurdles for Malone (7-0). Boots finished first in the shot put and discus.

GIRLS TRACK AND FIELD

MALONE SWEEPS

Two wins each from Lillian Gishey and Hayley Lewis helped the Huskies (7-0) defeat OFA 216-98 and Salmon River 225-61 in a double-dual meet in Malone.

OFA (1-4) picked up a 189-81 win over the Shamrocks (0-6).

Gishey won the high jump and triple jump and Lewis finished first in the 100 and 200.

BASEBALL

POTSDAM 2, MASSENA 1

Ben Miller struck out eight to lead Potsdam to a victory over Massena in a Northern Athletic Conference Central Division game in Massena.

Miller also drove in a run with a double for the Sandstoners (6-1 overall, 6-0 division).

Isaac Ward led Massena (5-1) with three hits. Jacob Vierno struck out eight for the Red Raiders.

OFA 14-8, SALMON RIVER 4-3

Jon Tayler and Peyton Lalone each picked up three hits in the first game as the Blue Devils swept the Shamrocks (0-7) in a Central Division doubleheader in Ogdensburg.

Jordan Miller struck out seven for OFA (4-2) in the opener, and Sebastian Quintilliani struck out nine in the second game.

Justin Bigness led the Shamrocks with three hits in game two.

HARRISVILLE 9-4, EDWARDS-KNOX 1-1

Nathan Weaver struck out six in game one to lead the Pirates past the Cougars (2-4) in a West Division doubleheader in Russell.

Weaver also lined two hits in the opener for the Pirates (9-0). Kevin Kapfer went 3-for-4 and Justin Hartle and Tim Fowler both provided two hits.

HEUVELTON 18, HAMMOND 2

A seven-strikeout performance from Jack Palmer helped the Bulldogs defeat the Red Devils (0-5) in a West Division game in Heuvelton.

Michael Martin, Cole Piercey and Andrew Woodward both lined three hits for the Bulldogs (10-2, 10-1).

Aiden Scagel, Dylan Liscum, Jordan Macaulay and Joe McDonald each tallied two hits.

MORRISTOWN 17, HERMON-DEKALB 10

Tyler Delosh was the winning pitcher and added four hits, including two home runs, to lead Morristown past Hermon-DeKalb (0-6) in a West Division game in Morristown.

Carter VanArnum picked up three hits, and Zackary Canalay and Luke King each added two for the Green Rockets (5-3).

SOFTBALL

HEUVELTON 7, HAMMOND 2

Rachel Thornill went 2-for-4 and drove in three runs to lead Heuvelton to a win over Hammond (3-3 overall and division) in a Northern Athletic Conference West Division game in Heuvelton.

Kristie Donnelly also lined two hits for the Bulldogs (12-0, 10-0). Alexis Weidner threw a two-hitter and struck out four.

MORRISTOWN 16, HERMON-DEKALB 1

Taylor Piercey allowed only three hits as the Green Rockets defeated the Demons (3-5, 3-3) in a West Division game in Morristown.

Margret Troiano homered, tripled and singled for Morristown (4-5). Logan Green also picked up two hits for the Green Rockets.

EDWARDS-KNOX 14-17, HARRISVILLE 4-2

Makayla Bacon threw a no-hitter and struck out 12 in the second game of a West Division doubleheader as the Cougars swept the Pirates (1-10, 1-8) in Russell.

Bacon also produced two hits for the Coguars (5-2). Cheyenne Schwartzfigure hit a three-run homer in game two.

CANTON 6, MASSENA 0

Beth Pearson struck out 14 and threw a three-hit shutout, leading the Golden Bears past the Red Raiders (2-5, 2-3) in a Central Division game in Canton.

Pierson also led the offense, going 4-for-4 for the Golden Bears (2-3). Lauren Smith went 2-for-4 for Canton.

SALMON RIVER 6-2, OFA 4-13

Sam Ghostlaw drove in the winning runs in the opening game for Salmon River (3-5), which gained a split of a Central Division doubleheader with the Blue Devils in Ogdensburg.

Kristen Snyder led OFA (3-3) in game two with three hits, including a home run. Riley Luckie and Cheyenne Tyo both lined two singles for the Blue Devils.
