CANTON - Massena native John Richey is expected to announce his candidacy for St. Lawrence County Surrogate Court judge on Thursday.

Richey had announcd he will be holding a press conference at 4 p.m. Thursday, at the Best Western in Canton. This event is open to the public.

Mr. Richey is currently the principal court attorney for St. Lawrence County Surrogate and Acting Supreme Court Judge Kathleen Rogers.

He has served in that position for the past 25 years. He also served for 10 years as town and acting village justice in Massena.

He is a past president of the St. Lawrence County Bar Association and the St. Lawrence County Magistrates Association.
