Man shoved woman to ground, resisted arrest, police say

WATERTOWN — A man pushed a woman to the ground and then tried to avoid arrest, Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies said.

Gregory D. Rogers, 55, address listed as Room 1 at the Watertown Budget Inn, 19226 Route 11 , was charged with resisting arrest and second-degree harassment after the alleged Saturday incident.

Deputies said Mr. Rogers shoved Lisa M. McCargar, same address, causing her to fall to the ground.

As sheriff’s deputies attempted to arrest Mr. Rogers on the harassment charge, he pulled his arm away and struggled to avoid being handcuffed, deputies said.

He was arraigned in Rutland Town Court and held at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building on $1,500 cash bail. He is to reappear in Watertown Town Court.
