Potsdam track teams swept by OFA


POTSDAM - The Potsdam Central varsity track teams were swept at home by NAC rival OFA on Monday.


In the boys meet, the visiting Blue Devils outscored the Sandstoners 143-67.

O’den Robertson anchored the Potsdam scoring with two individual wins, leading the 100 in 11.3 seconds and the 200 in 23.1 seconds. He also combined with Ebuka Ononye, Taylor Prosper and Dan Stone to capture the 400 relay in 46.5 seconds. Ononye accounted for the other Sandstoner first after leading the 800 in 2:25.9.


The Lady Sandstoners posted eight first-place efforts in dropping a 170-128 decision. Maddie Drecshel and Emily LoMastro logged two wins each for Potsdam with Drecshel leading the 200 in 28.1 seconds and the 400 in 1:04.3 and LoMastro capturing the 100 in 13.8 seconds and the triple jump at 31’2”.

Also recording individual wins for the Lady Sandstoners were; Madi Dow in the 800 (2:28.6), Lauren Lucht in the 100 hurdles (18.7 seconds) and Macy Huckle in the high jump (4-6). Dow and Drecshel also combined with Miranda Manguel and Heidi Visser to claim the 1,600 relay in 4:50.

The other NAC dual meet staged on Monday saw the host Franklin Academy boys beat Canton 164-73 and the Canton girls prevail of FA 167-149.
