City DPW resumes brush pick up

The City of Ogdensburg is reminding residents that during brush pick-up, Department of Public Works crews will take yard waste that includes brush, branches, lawn clippings, and leaves only. Leaves should be in a separate pile, bags or containers are not allowed. If you leave bagged leaves or any other debris, DPW will not pick it up. Please empty your leaves out of the bags and remove any items that are not permitted.

Yard waste does not include pet waste, construction debris, bags/containers of any kind or anything else not listed as acceptable. Please locate yard waste between the sidewalk and curb, not in the street, at the front of your property. Yard waste will not be picked up from alleyways. Piles must not block fire hydrants, nor touch poles, bushes, or fences. The city will not pick up debris or yard waste generated by a contractor.

If you have any questions about allowable yard waste or the new Yard Waste Pick-up Schedule, please call the Department of Public Works at 315-393-2300 or for more information visit the city’s webpage at
