CANTON — St. Lawrence University’s noon in the chapel performance will be held on Friday at 12:15 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 3 East Main St. The event is free and open to the public. For more information contact the Chaplain’s office at 229-5630, email chapel@stlawu.edu or visit www.stlawu.edu/chaplain.

The performance was originally scheduled for Valentine’s Day, however it was canceled due to inclement weather. The music will celebrate love and February’s Black History Month with traditional spirituals and will feature the Ad Hoc Singers, Julia Pomainville and Alexandra Jacobs Wilke.

Musical selections will include “Gonna Be a Great Day” arranged by Joseph M. Martin and J. Paul Williams; “Chariot’s Comin’(Swing Low, Sweet Chariot)” and “I Feel the Spirit! (Do, Lord! And Ev’ry Time I Feel the Spirit)” arranged by Don Besig and Nancy Price; “Peace Like a River, Kum Ba Yah” arranged by Jean Anne Shafferman; and “Suite of Afro-American Hymn Tunes” by Charles Callahan.
