Sue, a tan, black and white female adult, mastiff-German shepherd dog, and Isis, a gray and black, female juvenile tabby-Siamese mix cat, are currently available for adoption at the St. Lawrence Valley Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

You can learn more about them and the other cats and dogs currently residing at the shelter by telephoning the SPCA at 393-5191, visiting the shelter on Tuesday through Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m., or going online to www.stlawrencevalleyspca.org.

THIS WEEK’S ADOPTION TIP: Don’t get caught up in fads, trends, or myths. Shelter pets are not throw-aways. Most of these animals are homeless for reasons, such as divorce, death, financial difficulties and neglect. These reasons are not their fault. They might also have been a wrong fit for the previous owner but the perfect fit for you.
