Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center’s Winters earns National Designation


Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center’s Rev. Thomas T. Patterson Wound Healing Center is excited to announce that Jenny Winters, hyperbaric technician, has earned the Certified Hyperbaric Technologist (CHT) designation from the National Board of Diving and Hyperbaric Medicine Technology. Winters, who is also a licensed practical nurse, has worked at the center since its opening in 2008. She has received extensive training in hyperbaric medicine. “We extend our congratulations to Jenny as she has worked very hard for this certification,” said Judy B. Tubolino, director of the Wound Healing Center. Tubolino continued, “Jenny exemplifies Claxton-Hepburn’s commitment to delivering the best care available for our patients.”

The Wound Healing Center is the only comprehensive wound care center in St. Lawrence County. More than 5700 hyperbaric treatments have been administered at the Center since its opening. It offers state-of-the-art treatment including two hyperbaric chambers designed to use 100 percent oxygen through a pressurized, oxygen-rich environment. This environment stimulates the growth of new vessels and improves circulation to ensure faster healing and a shorter recovery, restoration of health and mobility and improves clinical outcomes. It offers the most advanced treatment available for serious, chronic wounds or delayed radiation injury. The evidencebased and nationally recognized approach to wound healing helps speed the recovery so patients can return to the activities they enjoy.

The National Board of Diving and Hyperbaric Medicine Technology is a non-profit certifying organization designed to meet the clinical, technical and safety needs of the discipline of undersea and hyperbaric medicine. The mission of the organization is to ensure that appropriately qualified technologists and nurses support the practice of diving medicine and hyperbaric oxygen therapy through respective board certification pathways.
