POTSDAM - The Potsdam Central varsity boys and girls lacrosse teams both closed out their regular seasons by posting convincing NAC wins on Thursday.

BOYS GAME

Potsdam 12, Colton-Pierrepont 2: Playing on their turf field, the Sandstoners (4-10) built a 6-1 halftime lead before going on to post their second straight win. Max Warden led the way offensively with four goals and an assist. Josh Sanchez and Corson Green added two goals apiece while Sam Woods and Billy Bergan each tallied a goal and assist. John Burkum connected for the other Potsdam goal while Nick Vaccaro logged a solo helper.

John Angleberger paced the Colts with a goal and assist. Scott Boyce struck for the other goal while Mark Dumas notched a solo assist.

Chase Palmer made six saves backstopping the win while Major McKinley handled 12 of the shots he faced working the C-P crease.

The Sandstoners were coming off a 9-8 win on the road over Saranac Lake on Tuesday where Warden (2 assists), Green (1 assist) and Bergan broke through for two goals each while Woods (1 assist) and Richie Foster tallied the others and Palmer made 10 stops.

The Sandstoners will now await the seedings for the upcoming Section 10 playoffs which get underway next Tuesday while the Colts are slated to play at OFA on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. and at Salmon River on Sunday at 1 p.m.

GIRLS GAME

Potsdam 12, Salmon River 4: At Fort Covington, the Lady Sandstoners worked their way to a 7-3 halftime lead before going on to clinch the top seed for the upcoming Section 10 Class C playoffs.

Annette Rishe led the winning attack with four goals and three assists. Kalie Grant fashioned three goals and one helper. Kiona Loran and Hannah Drecshel chipped in two goals each while Matisyn Beamer netted a singleton.

Kyra Thompson scored twice in the losing cause. Jillian Benedict and Kianna Thompson broke through for the other goals.

Katelyn Bloom made 13 saves working the crease for the win as Potsdam improved to 12-3 overall and 10-2 in the NAC standings. Shawnee Oakes turned aside four shots for the Lady Shamrocks.
