WATERTOWN — City police arrested a LaFargeville woman on three felony charges, alleging that she received more than $1,000 worth of unlawful social benefits.

Patricia M. Cummings, 23, of 22374 Buttermilk Flats Road, was charged with first-degree offering a false instrument for filing, fourth-degree grand larceny and fourth-degree welfare fraud, all class E felonies.

The alleged unlawful benefits extend back to May 29, 2013, police records indicate.

The exact amount of the benefits is not known. Fourth-degree grand larceny is charged when the value of the property is between $1,000 and $3,000.

She was arrested at 8:35 a.m. Friday at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building. She is to appear in City Court to answer the charges.
