Local auto racing: McCreadie wins first race of season

Watertown’s Tim McCreadie took the lead halfway through the 50-lap World of Outlaws feature to claim his first victory of the season Friday at the Moonshine Runner 50 at 201 Speedway in Sitka, Ky.

McCreadie got past Chase Junghans on lap 25 and led the rest of the way. He is the ninth winner in 11 races this season.

Saturday’s Outlaws race at Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tenn., was postponed due to rain. No makeup date has been scheduled.

CAN-AM RAINED OUT AGAIN

The weather continues to be the early-season winner as another Friday night slate was wiped out due to rain.

Rain has postponed or cut short each racing program this season. Racing is scheduled to take place again 7:30 p.m. Friday.
