CARTHAGE The Carthage Area Chamber of Commerce elected Jeremiah S. Papineau as its vice president at a meeting earlier this month.
We are very excited, Chamber President Teri L. Ellis said. Hes full of new ideas new energy. Well be looking for his input and attendance on our officer slate.
She said that as managing editor of the Carthage Republican Tribune, Mr. Papineau might have access to information to share with the board.
The vice president position has been vacant since Mrs. Ellis moved up to become president, an office she has held sporadically for the past eight years. She said the vice president traditionally has been someone willing and able to step into the president position.
