OGDENSBURG — More than 360 students from Heuvelton and Ogdensburg central schools took part in the fifth annual Living History Day at the Richard G. Lockwood Arena on Friday.

Fort La Presentation Association hosts the “hands-on history” day that allows students to experience what is was like to live during colonial times.

Demonstrations of open hearth cooking, rope making, colonial lighting, butter churning, dancing and fiddling, weaving and toys were given for the students.

Students completed scavenger hunt questions for a chance to win prizes.

The day ended with the firing of cannon.

The annual event is sponsored by the Fort La Presentation Association, Heuvelton Central School, Ogdensburg City School District, Heuvelton Lions Club, Ogdensburg Teachers Association, Heuvelton Teachers Association, and Heuvelton PTA.
