Anthony J. Catalina, 85, Pillar Point, passed away at his home on Saturday, May 17, 2014 surrounded by his loving family.

Anthony was born in Watertown on April 5, 1929, son of Joseph and Gertrude Vitelli Catalina. He graduated from Watertown High School in 1947 and went on to a career as a journeyman electrician.

On September 9, 1950 he married Joyce Scee at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church in Watertown.

Anthony retired in 1991 after 42 years as an electrician through IBEW Local 910. He served in the US Army Reserves and retired in 1989 as a Master Sergeant, and served for over one year with the Naval Militia after World War II. He was a life member of the Watertown Elks Lodge 496.

Anthony enjoyed building his home on the lake and took great pride in all of his work, but above all, was immensely proud of his family.

Besides his wife, Joyce, he is survived by his four children, Jan (Clarke) Oatman, Calcium; Sandra (Robert) O’Neil, AL; Teresa (Burt) Phillips, Baldwinsville; and Mark Catalina, Watertown; eleven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; two sisters, Yolanda Guthrie, NB and Patricia Saitta, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews. He had six brothers and four sisters predecease him.

Calling hours will be held at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Watertown on Wednesday, May 21, from 2:30 - 4:30PM followed by a funeral service at 5PM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations in Anthony’s name to Hospice of Jefferson County, 1398 Gotham St., Watertown, NY 13601. Online condolences to his family may be made at
