Watertown- Joseph A. Ward, Morrison Street, passed away in the Emergency Room of the Samaritan Medical Center on Saturday, May 17. He was 56 years old.

Joseph was born at Mercy Hospital, Watertown, on October 3, 1957, a son to James W. and Josephine T. Bertrane Ward. Growing up locally, he would become a member of the Watertown High School class of 1976. Following graduation, Joseph joined the United States Army, serving from 1976-1980.

Following an honorable discharge he worked as a delivery person at the United Parcel Service, Watertown. Joseph enjoyed the Dallas Cowboys, New York Yankees, and Jeff Gordon. He also enjoyed playing football for Watertown’s Red and Black.

He is survived by 2 sons: Joey and Bobby Ward, North Carolina; 3 brothers: James (Lori) Ward, Clayton, Jeff (Jackie) Ward, Watertown, Roger (Debra) Ward, Watertown; a sister: Jennifer Spencer, Watertown; as well as several nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Joseph is pre-deceased by a brother, Richard.

The funeral will be Thursday, May 22, 10:00am at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home, James Ward officiating. Calling hours will be Wednesday, May 21, 6:00pm - 8:00pm at the funeral home.

Arrangements are with Reed & Benoit Funeral Home, Watertown.
