Local auto racing: McCreadie takes second at Duck River race

WHEEL, Tenn. — Watertown’s Tim McCreadie won the pole, but ended up in second place at a World of Outlaws Late Model race Duck River Raceway Park.

McCreadie led most of the way, but Darrell Lanigan passed him on lap 35 to earn his fourth win of the season. This was McCreadie’s second straight top three finish of the weekend.

Mike Marlar, Rick Eckert and Ray Cook rounded out the top five.

n Dalton Rombough won the legends race and placed fifth in the thunder stocks, highlighting the first regular-season race since 2009 at Adirondack International Raceway in New Bremen.

Other winners include John Sullivan in the truck race, JR Mooney in super stocks, Shaun Shaw in juniors and Mike Gadbaw in sports compact. The next scheduled race at the speedway will be at 2 p.m. on June 1.
