CANTON — SUNY Canton’s bachelor’s degree in emergency management has been ranked as the eighth best in the country by the Emergency Management Degree Online Program Guide website. The online guide at www.emergency-management-degree.org lists degree programs for those pursing a career in emergency management.

The ranking is based on the curriculum’s “emphasis on cutting-edge incident management and emergency operating center technology, as well as exercises and drills using virtual disaster simulations and hazard modeling,” according to a college news release.

SUNY Canton is in the running to become the state’s College of Emergency Preparedness, Homeland Security and Cyber Security through a partnership with Clarkson University, Potsdam.
