GOUVERNEUR — Bridget L. Prashaw, 29, of Gouverneur, was charged by state police with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and possession of a hypodermic instrument Sunday afternoon.

Police said they executed a Jefferson County bench warrant at North Gordon Street on petit larceny charges in the city of Watertown.

According to police, Ms. Prashaw had 12 used heroin needles and 10 pieces of blue and white paper containing heroin residue in her purse at the time of her arrest.

Ms. Prashaw was turned over to Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies and was being held at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building before posting $500 bail.

She is scheduled to appear in Town Court and Watertown City Court to answer the charges.
