Lyons Falls: Eugene R. Farr Sr. 88, of 4204 Lyons Falls Rd. was pronounced DOA Tuesday morning at Lewis County General Hospital, Lowville.

He was born March 21, 1926 in the Town of Lyonsdale, the son of Raymond E. and Viola N. Persons Farr and attended school in Penny Settlement. He was employed as a grinder at Lyons Falls Pulp and Paper, for 30 years retiring in 1972 and had previously worked at the Herman Kraeger farm in Port Leyden. He married Elizabeth E. Farnham March 29, 1969 in Lake Placid.

He was a charter member of the NYS Sheriff’s Association and the NY Hunting and Fishing Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, two sons Eugene R. Farr, Jr. of Lyons Falls and Raymond Roscoe Farr of Saluda, NC; one sister Lois McNaughton of Hudson falls. He is predeceased by two brothers and two sisters.

The funeral will be Saturday at 10:00 AM at the Callaghan Funeral Home, LLC Port Leyden with Rev. Joan Ripp, officiating.

Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Lyons Falls.

Friends may call from 6 until 8 Friday evening at the funeral home.

Donations may be made in his memory to the Lyons falls Ambulance Fund.
