REDWOOD – Carol J. Savage, 66, of Lake St, Redwood, died Tuesday afternoon at University Medical Center, Syracuse, where she had been a patient since May 8th.
Carol was born May 8, 1948, at EJ Noble Hospital in Alexandria Bay, the daughter of Homer and Florence Orvis Booth. She graduated from Indian River High School in 1966. She married Douglas R. Savage on August 24, 1968 at the Redwood United Methodist Church with Reverend Thompson officiating. Carol was a certified EMT for 27 years and was serving as chief of the Redwood Ambulance Squad at the time of her death. She was also a member of the Redwood Fire Department and the Redwood United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband Douglas, her mother Florence Booth, Philadelphia, NY, two daughters, Mrs. Michael (Tracy) Stephenson, Redwood and Jacqueline Brown and her fiancÚ Tracy Slate also of Redwood, two sisters Karen Prue, Philadelphia, NY and Mrs. William (Elaine) Freeman, Oxbow, NY , 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. She was predeceased by her father Homer Booth and a brother Roger Booth.
Calling hours will be Saturday, May 31st from 1-4 pm at the Costello Funeral Home, Alexandria Bay. A memorial service will be held Saturday June 7th at 1 pm, at the Redwood Fire Hall.
