SYRACUSE — Section 3 Class C-1 champion South Lewis used an 11-run first inning and held on to beat Class C-2 champion Bishop Grimes, 12-9, in the Class C overall championship Friday at NBT Bank Stadium.

Nate Pleskach went 2-for-4 with three RBIs, while Naythan Cobb and Cody Capron each drove in a pair of runs for the Falcons (18-1), who sent 16 batters to the plate and collected eight runs in the first. South Lewis managed only one hit afterward.

The Falcons, who won the overall “C” title in 2012, will face the Section 4 champion at 1:30 p.m. June 7 at Onondaga Community College in a state quarterfinal.

Wyatt Myers doubled twice and drove in three runs for the Cobras (15-3).
