Both Chapman’s Can-Am Motorsports Park in LaFargeville and Mohawk International Raceway in Akwesasne raced full events Friday night for the first time this season.

Can-Am had two partial nights of racing, while Mohawk International Raceway finally began after their season opener was postponed five times previously.

At Can-Am, Ray Belcher (thunder car) and Riley Gill (novice sportsman) each won the regular race and a makeup event.

Other winners included Josh Van Brocklin (sportsman), Rocky Warner (pro street), David McDonald (late model) and Ray Desormeau (thunder stock).

At Mohawk, Danny O’Brien won the 24th annual Memorial Cup 358-modified race to highlight the action.

O’Brien took the lead on a restart after a lap 16 caution flag to win the 50-lap race. Jordan McCreadie, Brian McDonald, Tom Conklin and Chris Raabe rounded out the top five.

Other winners were Corey Castell and Matt Zira (bandit), Mathieu Robinson and Scott Waldrif (mod lite) and Dylan Evoy (sportsman).

MCCREADIE, FULLER FINISH 1-2

Tim McCreadie and Tim Fuller of Watertown finished first and second, respectively, Friday at the Appalachian Mountain Speedweek race at Roaring Knob Complex at Markleysburg, Pa.

McCreadie worked his way through the field from the eighth spot for the victory, while Fuller moved his way up from the seventh position.
