Judge needlessly discards woman’s abuse

It has recently come to my attention that there are transgressions occurring in the courthouse in Canton.

A woman was raked across the coals at a recent court appearance while bringing a case against her ex-husband.

While the details of the case will remain vague in this letter, it is important to note that what she was asking for in terms of payment was awarded her in the divorce decree.

The judge who presided over the most recent case was hostile to the woman and focused solely on the opinion of the ex-husband.

The case details were in regards to paying his daughter’s past college tuition, as stated in the divorce decree.

It is also stated in the divorce decree that the ex-husband was extremely abusive to both the woman and her two children.

The judge did not take this into consideration in the slightest, making the ex-husband out to be the victim.

The woman reported that she felt the blinding pain of the abuse all over again, this time validated by the judge.

While holding a place of power and authority, it seems despicable that someone would abuse that power in this way.

It certainly does not make me, as a member of the St. Lawrence County community, feel safe.

Quite the contrary, it makes me sick.

I would like to call out to anyone who has had a similar instance happen at the courthouse in Canton.
