Two men face charges in alleged domestic dispute

GOUVERNEUR — Two men face misdemeanor charges following an alleged domestic dispute in Fowler on Thursday.

Ian P. Martin, 17, of Gouverneur, was charged by state police with third-degree assault and acting in a manner injurious to a child under 17 years old.

Mark W. Tripp, 28, of 1334 River Road, Richville, was charged with issuing a false written statement.

Police said Mr. Martin and another 15-year-old were fighting at their residence when Mr. Martin choked the 15-year-old.

Police said the two teens as well as Mr. Tripp, whom police said was a witness to the incident, said that the 15-year-old’s step-mother choked the 15-year-old, but police said they later changed their statements.

Both Mr. Martin and Mr. Tripp are to appear in Fowler Town Court.
