CHAMPION — Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies charged Brian S. Koberger, 35, of 763 Mill St., with second-degree criminal contempt after he allegedly violated a stay-away order of protection from Town Court.

Deputies said at 7:22 a.m. Sunday, Mr. Koberger showed up at the Woolworth Street home of Lisa Johnson, who had an order against him issued in April.

Charged at the residence, Mr. Koberger was arraigned in Town Court and held at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building on $1,000 bail. He also was given an appearance ticket to return to the court.
