Collegiate baseball: DiamondDawgs edge Rams in Perfect Game play


LITTLE FALLS — Jason Sullivan doubled, singled, drove in a run and scored twice to spark the Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs past the Watertown Rams, 5-4, on Tuesday night in a Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League game at Veterans Memorial Park.

Michael DeCarlo pitched six innings of three-hit ball, striking out five and walking one to earn the win for Mohawk Valley (4-2).

Nick Moore doubled twice to pace Watertown (3-4). Joe Ogren doubled, singled and drove in a run, and Drew Hercik doubled in two runs and singled.

Losing pitcher Mitch Sewald allowed five runs (four earned) and struck out six while walking two in six innings.

Watertown has an offday today and will host the Newark Pilots at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Alex T. Duffy Fairgrounds.
