FC Freeze U12 Girls Settle for Tie on The Road


CANTON - The FC Freeze U12 Girls soccer team battled to a 4-4 tie on the road against Upstate United SC Duck’s Dynasty (2-0-1) in NNYYSL action from Watertown on Monday.

FC Freeze (1-0-1) controlled the ball early but gave up a breakaway goal to Duck’s Dynasty with a shot over keeper Katharine Cowen’s head. Six minutes later, Annie Atkins made a centering pass to Gabrielle Jones whose strong shot found the back of the net. Soon after, Natalie Cowen threaded a pass to Olivia Mace, who blasted a shot into the lower left corner of the net. Duck’s Dynasty then had another breakaway and scored a goal high above the Cowen’s outstretched hands. DD then scored a go ahead goal late in the first half before Mace tied the score just prior to half-time.

In the second half, Mace was able to dribble through traffic and make a pinpoint pass to Jones, who pumped a shot over the keeper’s right shoulder. With 10 minutes remaining, the Duck’s tied the score up with a goal just out of the reach of keeper Sophia Janoyan. FC Freeze continued to control the ball but was unable to regained the lead.

FC Freeze travel to Philadelphia to take on the Indian River United Soccer Club this evening.
